Ende Tymes Festival 2012, an annual celebration of experimental noise scheduled for May 17-20 at Secret Project Robot and Outpost Artist Resources, has launched a Kickstarter campaign to help defray costs: most importantly, artist fees and travel. This year’s lineup includes luminaries like Phill Niblock, Telecult Powers, Grasshopper, Mike Shiflet, Andrew Coltrane and Husere Grav. Go, look.

Emilie Friedlander and Ric Leichtung, formerly of Pitchfork sister site Altered Zones, are running a Kickstarter campaign to fund a new project, Ad Hoc, a website and a quarterly print zine about independent-made, independent-minded music. All manner of enticements are dangled on the Kickstarter page, but really the best reason to pitch in is because these are independent voices who’ve already proved themselves worth the support. I’ve always aspired to get something into one of these volumes. In the mean time, they’re exceptional reading and vital education, and I’m happy to chip in what I can to keep them coming.
